NDIS Psychology Services | Maple Community Services

Registered NDIS Psychology Services

Psychological services funded by your NDIS plan, built around your goals and your routine.

NDIS psychology services are funded through your NDIS plan, usually from Capacity Building: Improved Daily Living. They focus on the functional impact of disability, things like managing emotions, handling change, rebuilding routines and taking part in your community, rather than the clinical treatment of a mental health condition, which stays with the health system.

At Maple Community Services, we help you implement your psychology support plan. Our team of support experts works with your practitioner, and assists you with strategies to make sure you’re getting consistent support every day.

Who Can We Help?

We help deliver NDIS psychological services by implementing psychology support plans for participants whose emotional, cognitive or behavioural barriers are getting in the way of the goals in their plan.

People living with psychosocial disability

Support for participants whose mental health condition creates ongoing functional impact, working on routines, motivation, relationships and staying well enough to use your other supports. Psychosocial disability accounts for around 9% of all NDIS participants nationally.

Adults with autism or ADHD

We follow your plan for emotional regulation, sensory load, routines and executive function, so the strategies from your psychologist work in real life.

Participants with intellectual disability, acquired brain injury or neurological conditions

Your psychologist designs the strategies. Our team uses them every day, adapted to the person’s communication style, and keeps the clinical team updated.

Support Coordinators and allied health professionals

Clear capability answers, written confirmation of what we can deliver, reports that arrive before the reassessment, and proactive updates you did not have to chase.

Wherever you are in your NDIS journey, our psychological services are designed to be consistent, culturally safe and built around what matters most to you.

What Our Clients Are Saying

What Do Our NDIS Psychology Services Involve?

Understanding your plan

We start by reviewing your psychology or behaviour support plan with you, your family and your Support Coordinator. Our clinician works with your practitioner, so we understand your goals and the strategies that help you most.

Putting strategies into everyday life

Your support workers use your strategies during daily routines, community outings and the moments that feel harder. That might mean managing distress, handling change or rebuilding confidence after a long stretch of isolation. If you want to move towards study, volunteering or work, we'll support that at a pace you set.

Training, records and reporting

Strategies stick when everyone uses them the same way. Our clinician helps your support workers understand your plan, and we record what's changing. We share progress with your practitioner so your plan can be reviewed, and we meet NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission reporting rules for any regulated restrictive practices.

    Your Questions, Answered

No. Maple Community Services doesn’t employ psychologists or deliver therapy. We implement the psychology and behaviour support plans your practitioner writes, which our team of experts then oversee.

Yes. Our Support Coordination team can help you find a psychologist or behaviour support practitioner. Once your plan is in place, we’ll put it into practice.

Your behaviour support practitioner writes your plan (often called a psychology support plan or BSP) and trains our support workers on it, so everyone uses the same strategies. We keep your team consistent, follow the plan every day, and share what’s working with your practitioner so the plan keeps up with your goals.

Because we answer quickly, we take complex referrals, and we do the heavy lifting on funding checks, risk and documentation. Reports arrive before the reassessment, not after it.

Yes. Send us your plan, and we will walk through it with you, show you which budget covers psychology, and tell you honestly if the funding is not there yet.

NDIS psychology services are psychological supports funded through an NDIS plan, delivered by a registered psychologist, and implemented by service providers. They address the emotional, cognitive and behavioural barriers created by a disability, such as emotional regulation, routines and community participation, rather than treating a mental health condition clinically.

Yes. The NDIS funds psychology as a capacity-building support, usually from Capacity Building: Improved Daily Living. It funds work on the functional impact of disability. Diagnosis and clinical treatment of a mental health condition remain the responsibility of the health system.

In most plans, psychology is funded from Capacity Building: Improved Daily Living. If that funding is allocated to a specific support or has been used up, unallocated Core Supports funding can sometimes be used instead. Your plan manager or Support Coordinator can confirm what your plan holds.

Yes, because they fund different things. Medicare’s Better Access program subsidises a limited number of sessions to treat a mental health condition, usually with a gap fee. NDIS psychology funds capacity building linked to your disability and is not capped at a set number of sessions while funding lasts.

Generally no. Diagnostic assessment is treated as a health system responsibility rather than a disability support. The NDIS may fund functional assessments that describe how a disability affects daily life and inform your plan.

Raise it at your next plan reassessment with evidence linking the psychology need to the functional impact of your disability and to your plan goals. A support coordinator or allied health report written in functional terms gives the request its strongest footing.
