Support and Same Day Booking
A disability support worker is a trained, screened professional who works alongside you at home and out in the community, covering personal care, meals, transport, appointments and the goals written into your NDIS plan. In Melbourne, that work runs on your schedule, in your language, at your pace.
Maple Community Services is an NDIS registered provider operating right across Greater Melbourne. Wherever you are, the aim is the same: a small crew of familiar faces instead of a rotating cast of strangers.
96% of our support workers stay with us. You build a routine with people who already know it, rather than briefing a stranger every fortnight.
We start with your needs, language, culture and daily rhythm. Availability is the last filter we apply, never the first.
HIDPA, specialised nursing, respiratory care, positive behaviour support and mental health, with clinical oversight standing behind the worker in your home.
Referrals answered within 2 hours, most first shifts inside 5 business days, and SIL placements moving within 24 hours.
The supports Melbourne participants and families use us for most often, and the part of your plan each one is funded from.
Getting up, showering, dressing, grooming, continence support and medication prompts, handled the way you already like them handled. Funded from Core Supports.
Gym sessions, TAFE, worship, medical appointments, shopping, with a worker who encourages your independence rather than taking over.
Cooking, laundry, tidying, the bins, light garden work and the admin that stacks up on the kitchen bench.
Blocks of support that give a family carer a real break, plus planned cover when your usual worker takes leave.
High Intensity Daily Personal Activities (HIDPA) covering bowel care, PEG feeding, ventilation and complex wound management, delivered by workers trained on your specific supports with clinical oversight.
Active nights, sleepovers and full around-the-clock rosters, whether you live at home or in a Supported Independent Living property.

Whether its a query about the services we provide, or just a general enquiry, we would love to hear from you!
Most likely, yes. We cover Greater Melbourne rather than one pocket of it, including the western growth suburbs around Werribee, Tarneit and Melton, the northern corridor through Craigieburn, Epping and Preston, the eastern suburbs around Box Hill and Glen Waverley, and the south east from Dandenong out to Pakenham and Frankston. Tell us your suburb and the hours you need, and we will confirm availability before you commit to anything.
Send an enquiry or referral, and rather than a bot, you can expect a real person to call you back. We talk through your supports, your routine, your language and the kind of person you want in your home, then shortlist workers who fit. You meet your worker before support starts, and we handle the service agreement, rostering and NDIS claiming from there.
Yes, you meet your matched worker first, in your home or somewhere you feel comfortable, and if the fit is not right, we match you again before anything is locked in. Nobody should have to accept the first person who happens to be free.
We cover the shift, and we cover it with someone briefed on your plan rather than whoever is free. Because we hold 96% support worker retention, cover usually comes from the same small team you already know. You are never left calling around on the morning of a shift.
Yes, and switching mid-plan is more common than people expect. Check the notice period in your existing service agreement, then talk to us about a start date that closes the gap. We can run alongside your current provider during the handover so your supports never stop.
Registration is voluntary, but the rules are not. Victoria runs its own Disability Worker Regulation Scheme, so every disability worker in Melbourne must comply with the Disability Service Safeguards Code of Conduct regardless of funding source, and anyone can complain to the Victorian Disability Worker Commission about a worker’s conduct. Workers can also choose to register with the Disability Worker Registration Board of Victoria, and you can look them up on the Commission’s public register.
For everyday supports, a week to a fortnight is normal once your funding is confirmed and a service agreement is signed. It takes longer when you need a specific gender, language or high-intensity skill set, or when the hours you need are evenings and weekends.Â
Yes, and most Melbourne participants use their worker for exactly this. Your plan can fund the support hours, and transport costs may be funded separately depending on how your plan is written, so check with your plan manager or support coordinator before you book regular trips. Confirm whether the worker uses their own comprehensively insured car or yours.
Yes. Melbourne providers commonly offer active overnight shifts, sleepovers, weekend supports and 24/7 rosters at home or in Supported Independent Living. These are priced higher than weekday daytime supports under the NDIS price limits, so the same budget buys fewer hours, which is worth modelling before you commit to a roster.
Ask for their NDIS Worker Screening Clearance number, their experience with your specific disability, and how they handle a day when your plans change. Then ask the provider who covers the shift when that worker is away, and how quickly you can change workers if the fit is wrong.
