Get help with planning, preparing, and cooking meals as part of your NDIS Core Supports.
Consuming a healthy diet with regular, nutrient-packed meals is essential to our well-being. But eating healthy starts with planning and preparation.Â
Planning what to eat, preparing ingredients, cooking, and keeping up with meals can take a lot of time and effort. When disability makes these everyday tasks difficult, having practical assistance can help make mealtimes easier to manage.
Maple Community Services provides NDIS meal preparation tailored to each participant’s routine, preferences, and support needs. With a diverse team of CALD Support Workers, we can also consider your cultural and religious preferences when preparing meals. Whether you need help cooking at home or are exploring NDIS meal preparation and delivery options, we can help you find an arrangement that feels right for your everyday life.

Choose the right partner, not a provider.

I need a trusted partner to share the load and provide peace of mind
I need a responsive partner for everyday support and complex, high-need referrals
If preparing meals independently is difficult, we can provide practical assistance based on your routine, preferences, and individual support needs.
Standing for long periods, handling ingredients, or completing different cooking tasks may not always be manageable. Our Support Workers can provide assistance with meal preparation so you don’t have to manage everything alone.
Some participants benefit from assistance with meals throughout the week. We can arrange support around your usual routine, helping make meal preparation more consistent and manageable.
Everyone has different tastes, routines, cultural preferences, and dietary requirements. We take the time to understand what works for you when providing meal preparation support.
Keeping meals organised can add another responsibility for families and carers. Reliable meal preparation support can reduce some of that pressure while ensuring the participant’s preferences and established routines remain central.

Maple Community Services can help with a myriad of Meal Preparation tasks based on your personal needs to ensure you are getting a healthy and balanced diet to improve your quality of life. These may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Yes. We take the time to understand your food preferences and any dietary requirements relevant to your support. Our team can work with you and your wider support network where specific guidance needs to be followed.
Yes. Meal preparation support can be arranged around your regular routine and approved supports. Speak with our team about the days and times you need assistance, and we can discuss availability.
Our team can discuss your meal support needs and the options available in your area. This may include assistance preparing meals at home or helping you understand suitable meal preparation and delivery arrangements based on your NDIS plan.
Yes. We can communicate with your Support Coordinator or Plan Manager to help coordinate your meal preparation services and ensure everyone has the information needed for your support arrangement.
At Maple, we are full service support providers. That means we go above and beyond to not just prepare your meals, but make sure that you are eating the best you can be.
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) funds reasonable and necessary supports that are connected to the disability you are living with and each participant’s NDIS Plan is different. The NDIS can provide you with funding to use Maple’s Meal Preparation services if you are unable to do it yourself.
Unfortunately, the NDIS does not cover the cost of the food itself. The services are provided to participants subject to the rules set out in the NDIS price guide, but we will work to make sure you can make the most of what’s available to you.
We know that disabilities come in many forms, so not everyone faces the same challenges. Eating a healthy diet is an important part of your overall health. Nutritional deficits of vitamins or nutrients can make a person’s pre-existing disability worse and introduce even more challenges to their life. If you are living with a disability that limits your ability to stick to a healthy meal plan, you don’t have to suffer in silence.
If your ability to plan and prepare for meals is limited, your NDIS funding could potentially help you. Whether you struggle to put together a healthy weekly menu, you have special dietary requirements, you are unable to cook or do food prep, or you are unable to buy food on your own, our NDIS Meal Preparation and delivery can help you. Together, we’ll work to create a healthy and sustaining meal plan based on your personal tastes and needs.
NDIS participants have the opportunity to secure funding for meal preparation through the Assistance with Daily Living category. This includes NDIS food preparation services and delivery supports which are indispensable for accessing the nutritious meals required to enhance your well-being. However, it’s important to note that the NDIS does not cover the everyday living costs that are common to everyone such as the cost of food or ingredients for your meals.Â
The NDIS recognises that access to meal preparation services can significantly alleviate the everyday cost of living for people with disabilities who often contend with additional challenges in preparing and accessing healthy meals. This support ensures that you have the means to maintain a healthy diet without the additional financial burden of purchasing and preparing food yourself.
By receiving meal preparation assistance, participants can focus on other aspects of personal growth and well-being. As NDIS meal providers, Maple caters to your specific dietary requirements and preferences, ensuring that your meals are not only nutritious but also enjoyable, ultimately contributing to an enriched quality of life.
Depending on individual needs, meal preparation support may include planning meals, preparing ingredients, cooking, and assistance with other tasks directly related to preparing everyday meals.
NDIS meal preparation and delivery may be funded in some circumstances when it relates to a participant’s disability support needs. Funding arrangements can differ, including which parts of a meal service the NDIS will fund, so participants should check their current plan and applicable NDIS rules.
Meal preparation services can often be adapted around a participant’s dietary requirements, preferences, and cultural needs. Any specific dietary guidance should be communicated to the provider before support begins.
Meal preparation and menu plans are covered under the Core Supports category and considered as Assistance with Daily Activities. If you are unable to cook a meal or shop for ingredients because of your disability, you should be covered under the NDIS funding to pay for meal preparation and even have meals delivered to you.
The specifics of your NDIS Plan will determine how you can use the available funds. If you’re not sure if your needs fall under this category, we can help you clarify with the NDIA exactly what is and isn’t covered under your personalised plan.
Meal preparation provides practical assistance when a participant needs help getting meals prepared. Life Skills Development focuses on helping participants learn and practise skills such as planning and cooking meals more independently over time.
