Whether its a query about the services we provide, or just a general enquiry, we would love to hear from you!
We match on your support needs, how you communicate (including language and culture), and how your days actually run, before we look at who is available. With 80% of our workforce from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and 50+ languages spoken across the team, we can usually match on both language and skills. You meet your worker before support starts.
Yes, and you do not need to justify it. Tell your Maple contact, and we will arrange a different worker, with a handover so you are not starting from scratch.
We acknowledge every referral within 2 hours during business hours, and average 5 business days from referral to the first shift for everyday supports. Supported Independent Living placements can move within 24 hours, while complex care takes longer because it involves clinical sign-off and worker training.
Yes. We specialise in complex care and High Intensity Daily Personal Activities (HIDPA), including for participants other providers have declined. Our workers are trained for the specific supports in your plan, with clinical oversight behind them. If you have been told no before, it is worth asking.
Yes. Every Maple support worker holds a current NDIS Worker Screening Check and completes our onboarding and training before their first shift, and we handle screening, insurance, training and cover when someone is away. Maple Community Services is registered with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, which you can verify on the Commission’s register.
That is what our rostering is built around. We hold 96% support worker retention in a sector where 17 to 25% of workers leave each year, so you get a small, consistent team rather than a new face every fortnight.
A disability support worker helps a person with disability with everyday tasks so they can live more independently. That usually covers personal care such as showering, dressing and medication prompts, meals and household jobs, getting to appointments, and taking part in work, study and community life. The tasks are agreed with you and written into your service agreement.
There are three routes: go through a registered NDIS provider who employs, screens and rosters workers for you, hire an independent worker through an online platform, or directly employ someone yourself. A provider carries the screening, insurance, training and backfill when someone is sick. The other two give you more choice but put that admin on you.
Expect a cleared NDIS Worker Screening Check, completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module, and a Working with Children Check if they support anyone under 18. Many also hold a Certificate III in Individual Support, current first aid and CPR, and training for high-intensity supports. You can ask to see all of it before support starts.
A carer is usually a family member, partner or friend who supports someone unpaid. A disability support worker is trained and paid, works to an agreed set of tasks and hours, and is bound by the NDIS Code of Conduct. Many people have both.
Yes. You can ask for a worker of a particular gender, language, cultural background or age range, and a good provider will treat that as a matching requirement rather than a preference. Put it in writing at intake so it carries through to rostering, including when your regular worker is away.
There is no set number of hours. Your plan funds a dollar amount in each support category, and how many hours that buys depends on the support type and when it is delivered, because evening, weekend and high intensity supports cost more per hour. A plan manager or support coordinator can turn your budget into an hours-per-week roster.
