Send us your plan, and we’ll tell you straight away what your funding covers. Our Sydney intake team acknowledges every referral within 2 hours, so you won’t wait to find out.
Aside from acting quickly, we specialise in complex care and High Intensity Daily Personal Activities (HIDPA), which are cases other providers often turn away. Plus, with over 80% of our team coming from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds, we deliver care that genuinely understands and respects your community.
Changing NDIS providers can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to do it alone. We’ll carefully look over your current service agreement, talk to your provider on your behalf, and ensure a seamless move over to the Maple family.
A real person calls you back, usually within 2 hours during business hours. No bots, no delays. We talk through your goals and your plan, then map out supports before you commit to anything.
Maple provides support right across Greater Sydney. Our service areas include Western Sydney, South West Sydney, the Inner West, Northern Sydney, and the Sydney CBD. Wherever you are located, our team works flexibly to deliver high-quality care directly to your local community
It depends on how your plan is managed. If your funding is NDIA-managed, you must use a registered NDIS provider. If your plan is plan-managed or self-managed, you can generally choose registered or unregistered providers, with some exceptions including specialist behaviour support, plan management and Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA).Â
Maple Community Services is registered with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, so we can support you under any plan management type.
You change NDIS providers by ending or varying the service agreement with your current provider, then signing a new agreement with the new one. Your NDIS plan and your funding do not change, and you do not need NDIA approval to switch. Check the notice period in your current agreement, let your Support Coordinator or plan manager know, and your new provider can usually start once the new agreement is signed.
It depends on the provider and the type of support. Everyday Core Supports such as personal care or community access can often start within days once documentation and staffing are sorted. Supported Independent Living, SDA and complex care usually take longer, because they involve assessments, funding checks and housemate compatibility. Ask any provider for their referral acknowledgement time and average time to service commencement, in writing.
Yes, in some cases. Providers can claim for the time a support worker spends travelling to you, within the limits set in the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits, and it comes out of your plan rather than your pocket. Travel must be agreed with you in your service agreement first. Ask any provider to show you exactly how travel will be charged before you sign.
Start with the register. You can look up any registered provider on the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission website to confirm their registration and which supports they are approved to deliver. Then ask for specifics rather than promises: staff turnover, how quickly they respond to referrals, whether they take complex cases, and whether they can match your language and culture.
Yes. High intensity supports, sometimes called High Intensity Daily Personal Activities (HIDPA), cover things like complex bowel care, ventilation, enteral feeding, subcutaneous injections and complex wound care, and must be delivered by workers with specific training. Some providers decline these referrals. If you have been told no before, ask providers directly whether they deliver HIDPA and what clinical oversight sits behind it.
Yes. You can use as many NDIS providers as you like, and more than one provider can hold funding in the same support category. The NDIA gives the example of splitting 30 hours of support between one provider for weekend social activities and another for weekday employment support. Many participants use one provider for daily support and a different one for therapy or plan management.
Yes, and it’s worth arranging early. NDIS providers can pick up supports at discharge, including personal care, help at home, transport to appointments, and high-intensity supports such as complex wound care or catheter care where the provider is trained to deliver them. Ask the hospital social worker or discharge planner to contact providers before your discharge date, because staffing and any home modifications take time to organise.
