Selena Gomez’s Rare Beauty Launches Disability-Friendly Fragrance Bottle

In a world where beauty is too often about perfection, Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez is reshaping the conversation to centre around inclusion and accessibility. Because when it comes to beauty, inclusion shouldn’t just about shade ranges or marketing. It needs to address those with different needs and design products that truly work for everyone.

Selena Gomez has just raised the bar for all beauty brands. Her latest launch from Rare Beauty, Rare Eau de Parfum, isn’t just another pretty bottle on the shelf. It’s a thoughtfully designed, disability-friendly bottle that makes perfume application easier and more comfortable. In fact, she specifically made the bottle for people with limited mobility or dexterity challenges.

A Fragrance Bottle That Puts Accessibility First

Perfume bottles are often elegant but not so easy to use. Our options are often limited to tiny nozzles, rigid sprays, and slippery surfaces that are hard to manage, especially for people with physical impairments. Rare Beauty decided to change that.

The Rare Eau de Parfum bottle features:

  • An oversized pump: Easy to press, even with a single finger.
  • Rounded ergonomic shape: Designed for a secure grip, with curves that fit comfortably in the hand.
  • Accessibility-led design: Created in collaboration with certified hand therapists and packaging engineers to support users with upper limb or dexterity challenges.

This isn’t just thoughtful design, it’s accessible for everyone. And proves that fragrance bottles and cosmetic applicators can be inclusive without sacrificing beauty. We hope this sets a new accessibility standard for all brands in the beauty industry to rise to.

The Made Accessible Initiative: Redefining Inclusion in Beauty

This innovative packaging isn’t just a one-off, it’s part of a bigger accessibility mission.

Selena Gomez recently shared Rare Beauty’s Made Accessible Initiative. This is a long-term commitment to improving accessibility across all products. And encouraging other beauty brands to do the same. the founder and creator of Rare Beauty recently revealed, “Rare Beauty was founded on inclusivity, and we’re expanding our definition with the Made Accessible Initiative. The Made Accessible Initiative has several goals: First, we’re partnering with the Casa Colina Research Institute to figure out what makes a product more accessible. We plan to use that information for future packaging decisions and make it widely available to the beauty industry so they might do the same. Rare Beauty is made to feel good in. I hope you feel as good using it as I do.”

This is the type of brand and mission we can get behind. We hope more brands start embracing this inclusivity mindset!

Ethical, Inclusive, and Community-Driven Brands

Rare Beauty has never been about products, it’s about people. The brand continues to prioritise ethical choices and community impact. With a portion of every sale going to the Rare Impact Fund, which provides funding for youth mental health services.

The Rare Impact Fund supports organisations, programs, and advocacy efforts that tackle some of the most urgent mental health challenges faced by young people. With a focus on those in underserved communities. It’s a powerful example of how a beauty brand can become a force for good, both on your shelf and in the world.

Whether it’s accessible design, inclusive messaging, or mental health advocacy, Rare Beauty proves that beauty is most powerful when it lifts others up.

Why Accessibility in Beauty Matters

Inclusive beauty is about how the products are made, who can use them, and whether everyone feels seen in the process. Rare Beauty’s disability-friendly perfume bottle and Made Accessible Initiative aren’t just innovative, they’re a sign of real leadership in a space that’s long overdue for change.

Selena Gomez isn’t just creating makeup and fragrance. She’s creating a movement.
