What is Disability Friendly Auskick?

Leagues are run currently in Victoria, South Australia, Queensland and Western Australia.

AFL ABLE WITH MAPLE

What makes Inclusive Auskick Unique?

  • Outdoor Field: AFL Inclusion League is played on a regular football oval.
  • Modified Rules: There are modified rules that vary from state/territory, the rule adaptations ensure that the game is accessible for all players of varying abilities.
  • Inclusivity: The Inclusive League is designed to give players an opportunity to play a competitive game of community football, where their disability may prove a barrier to do this in a mainstream community football club. There are a variety of options depending on location, including the introduction of tackle-free versions of the game.

Maple Community Services' Role

Maple Community Services is dedicated to promoting inclusivity in sports through our partnership with the AFL. We are committed to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to participate in Auskick and experience the joy of Australian Rules Football.

Our Initiatives:

  • Open Days Across Australia: Maple will be organizing open days at Auskick centres across Australia. These events provide an opportunity for children and their families to experience Inclusive Auskick, meet coaches, and learn about the program.
  • Training and Education: We will be educating and training all clubs to effectively support children with disabilities. This includes providing resources and workshops to help coaches and coordinators create an inclusive environment.
  • Community Engagement: Engaging with local communities to raise awareness about Inclusive Auskick and encourage participation. Maple’s experts will be on hand to provide support and answer any questions.
