Sarah Walsh began her athletics journey at age 9 when her teachers selected her for the Zone Athletics Carnival, despite her limited experience. Her talent quickly emerged, and she joined Helensburgh Little Athletics Club, where she excelled in sprints and long jump. By age 17, she was representing Australia on the international stage, making her debut at the 2015 World Para-Athletics Championships in Doha.

Over the years, Sarah has consistently improved, setting Australian records and earning a bronze medal at the 2019 World Para-Athletics Championships in Dubai with a leap of 5.20m. Despite a challenging seventh-place finish at the Tokyo Paralympics, she remains a top competitor, selected for her fourth Australian world championships team in 2023.

Born with Fibular Hemimelia, Sarah had her foot amputated at 18 months old and received her first running blade at age 10. She has since mastered the blade, continually refining her technique to keep pace with advancements in technology.

In addition to her athletic achievements, Sarah is pursuing a Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science and has a background in swimming, gymnastics, and wheelchair basketball. She holds multiple Australian records in the T64 class.
